The Village Inn offers warm, friendly hospitality. Our
accommodations have old style beds, some with brass knobs and Newfoundland quilts,
but no feather mattresses! We have folk furniture and most floors have been
restored to the original wood while one still has old canvas. The washrooms
are modern and all rooms have en-suite or private bathrooms.
Relax in our sitting room and listen to lectures
or see films about the whales. How about a sing-song around the old
piano or some late night conversation with other guests or guides?
Two dining rooms offer a menu suitable to
all family members, featuring traditional Newfoundland home cooking.
We cater to special dietary needs and can make just about any meal your
appetite desires.
A sitting room with fireplace, piano, books and board games, has
facilities for films and slide presentations. And our front porch allows
you to sit and enjoy the sounds and fresh sea air.
The old pub in the Inn is a great place to
enjoy a drink after a day on the ocean. Talk with the other guests
or listen to our guide's stories about past adventures on the sea.
Try the famous Village Inn Manhattan Cocktail (made with
three secret ingredients). Dr. Beamish is known for giving them
away to guests who can spot the first whale before the guides.
We specialize in all inclusive weekly or three night packages and
daily expeditions to see and study
the whales, dolphins and porpoises. Our resident scientist is a co-owner
and expedition leader, whose experiments in computerized human-animal
communications strongly suggest a career opportunity for anyone. During
the off season (Sept - Oct), we specialize in
three night hiking packages.
