Postscript #114 to the "Lanzarote" paper (9/14/98)

AN ASTONISHING HYPOTHESIS FOR NEW COMMUNICATION, NEW TIME, NEW SPACE        Start any circular clock so that it matches a biological rhythm of an unstressed whale, terrestrial mammal, bald eagle et al. (as per detailed instructions in postscript #19, or, as also found in the research section of web site: www.animalcontact.com). Define its direction as "clockwise." Then define a declarative concept by Pavlovian conditioning so that nouns become associated with clockwise rhythmic messages. For example, a geographic position such as "location A" could be represented by the message: "Late, Early, On Time," (see diagram in web site postscript #112). To communicate these elements use any high "rise time," low stress signal, sign or symbol.       The animal will teach you that reversing the direction of this so called "Rhythm Based Time" (RBT) is changing the declarative into the interrogative! (Note that this process alone confirms RBT as a different form of time from that defined by Newton or Einstein). A noun such as "location A" becomes "location A?" or: "Are you going to location A?" It becomes represented in RBT, in our example, by signals occurring at clock positions: "Early, Late, On Time," relative to the RBT "On Time" clock position of the shared rhythm, as mentioned above. This is precisely according to the formal definition of RBT which is: "The Perception of Lateness Relative to On Timeness" (postscript #104).       Now let one organism communicate such that there exists an "external lateness" caused by the signal travel time within the medium. For example, a whale five miles from a vessel would receive an acoustic pulse approximately five seconds after transmission, which time is hereby referred to as external lateness. "Rhythm Based Communication" (RBC), the newly described communication of the above title, is defined as: "The Encoding of Information into RBT." During reception of RBC, the lateness of a synchronized pulse (relative to the "On Timeness" of the shared rhythm) would notify the conscious mind of the whale that the spacial separation was indeed five miles. But the external lateness is converted inside the whale into internal lateness AND the internal lateness in RBT can be rotated into internal "On Timeness," supposedly with only a very small biomechanical error. "Physical Space," as we have known it, remains unchanged at five miles, but "RBC Space" decreases to near zero! The information within the pulse is translated "On Time" and becomes synchronous with the "On Timeness" of the shared rhythm. This process must be repeated for a subsequent pulse using a different set of internal translating clocks within the whale. One of these clocks is set to the shared rhythm, the other carries the internal lateness of said subsequent pulse.       The forcing of internal lateness into internal On Timeness creates a realistic "RBC Space" which is a fraction of the physical space that we all know, AND, in terms of RBC, the universe becomes smaller.       Thus could be altered the nature of physics: (1) besides "Signal Based Communication" there is most certainly RBC, (2) besides conventional, linear, relative time t there is impressively indicated a circular, orthogonal, "always-in-the-present," relative, RBT and (3) besides physical space there appears to be "RBC Space" allowing for the strongly suggested global unification of some parts of the mind of each living organism.
